01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Komugi’s katsumeshi set meal gives Kakogawa’s soul food its own twist: a crisp pork cutlet topped with demi-glace sauce. It comes with white rice, soup, two small side dishes and raw vegetables, making a satisfying set meal with the cutlet and sauce at its centre.

For a fish-focused meal, the seasonal fish set offers a choice of preparations. The menu lists sashimi, salt-grilling and simmering, among other options, and diners have noted that the type of fish changes from day to day. The seasonal fish saikyo-yaki set features fish marinated in miso and grilled until fragrant, served with two small side dishes, raw vegetables and soup.

Those looking for the day’s main dish can check the blackboard for the daily set meal. Another option is the homestyle rice set, centred on familiar dishes such as curry, stew or hayashi rice. Set meals are served in the evening as well as at lunchtime, and takeaway is available alongside dining in.
